Dr. Richard (“Whip”) Wetherill, III is a native of Wilmington, North Carolina, and resides here with his wife, Susan, and their three children. After graduating from N.C. State University with dual degrees in Economics and Business Management, Dr. Wetherill continued his studies at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill’s School of Dentistry, where he received his degree in 1998. After obtaining his DDS (Doctor of Dental Surgery) degree, Dr. Wetherill and his family returned to Wilmington to set up his dental practice here.
Dr. Wetherill is currently a member of the American Dental Association, the North Carolina Dental Society, and the Wilmington Tri-County Dental Society.
When Dr. Wetherill is not busy helping people with their smiles, you can usually find him at one of his children’s sporting events or other activities. In his free time, he is apt to be on the golf course, deep in the woods hunting, or simply in his yard trying to fight the weeds! Dr. Wetherill also enjoys playing coed soccer, serving on the parking and host team at his local church, serving Meals on Wheels once a month, and even helping BSA Troop 13 as a member of the Scout Committee.
Today, Dr. Wetherill maintains a practice in Wilmington, NC four days a week, and provides dental care at Eastern Carolina Dental in Jacksonville, NC, on Fridays.
